The Pain of a Trilogy

Sapphire Flames by Ilona Andrews

It’s been a while since I posted on my blog. Time just disappeared, I tell you. I’m going to try to post more frequently. Wish me luck!

Today I’m want to talk about the pain of a trilogy. Not one I wrote, but one I read. Sort-of. Mostly, in any case.

Ilona Andrews is one of my favorite authors. One of her series is the Hidden Legacy.

For the first trilogy, I waited until the week before book 3 came out to read the trilogy (I bought them when they were released, and heroically, painfully, waited, lol). It helped that books two and three came out close to each other.

I was scrolling through my Kindle and saw Sapphire Flames. I checked my books, and saw I’d already read the one before, so I opened it and cheerfully read it, too. It was so good!

I don’t know what I was thinking. I KNEW it couldn’t be the end of the trilogy. I didn’t remember the male main character. But I thought the last one had come out (no idea where that thought came from – the land of hopes and dreams, maybe).

Okay, so it was the middle one. The next one MUST be out, right? On Andrews’ blog, they haven’t been talking about this series, so it has to already be released. Has, to… WRONG! It doesn’t come out until mid-August!

AAAAUUUGGGHHH! Well, at least it will be out in 25 days. Three weeks. I can do it. I can wait.

If you haven’t read the series, the two trilogies are closely tied. The first three are about the older sister. The next three are about the middle sister. So you could pick them up, and read one book of the series each week until it comes out… But they are fast reads, so maybe you want to wait and start them closer to the release…

Next trilogy, I’ll be sure to check before I read it! UGH.
